Integral Starter Generator

Development of 5 kW to 30 kW, 60,000 RPM generators for installation into high speed turbines is progressing at Electrodynamics under a contract from the US Army Research Laboratory.

These generators operate in high temperature environments and provide engine start function as well.  High temperature insulation schemes are also being developed.  Compact power electronic controllers will have DSP based control systems.
